Description: Early Victorian Crotch Mahogany Half Commode with the original
petite cookie corner marble and shaped OG edge. The full serpentine front is an unusual
feature! There is a well carved key escutcheon on the top drawer with pretty scrolling, leaves, berries, and more scroll carvings on the door. The side stiles have multiple tapered reeded half columns. The commode features more fancy scrolling across the front apron base and on either side. The side panels have recessed picture framed moldings and there is early dovetailing on the drawer with a chamfered bottom. The cupboard interior is open but it originally had a small shelf.
There are two old keys to facilitate opening the drawer and door.
