Description: Large size walnut Victorian two door bookcase. This piece
came from the Civil War Museum of Philadelphia. It has a wonderful
intricately carved crest featuring open carving and an incised carved shield
with shaped raised burled panels beneath. There are two doors with arched
tops and detailed molding around the edge. The doors have the original wavy
old glass. We have an old key that can be used to open the doors although
it does not work the lock. There are five adjustable shelves. The sides
have raised track moldings, carvings, and raised burled panels for decoration.
There is a step out two drawer base with carved handles on the drawers. The
bookcase comes all apart for easy moving. This is a very impressive
bookcase in great all original condition.
